WEEK 4.

Maths...

This week in maths I am learning different denominators and it is really hard but it gets easy when you know them also I am learning decimals.

Athletics...

Today we had athletics I liked long jump, shot put and discuss and it was really fun but the most boring thing was sprints but sprints were really fun and I came 3rd in 200m and 4th in 100m run but my legs are really tired from running and I also sprained my hand when I did a cartwheel and it really hurt. Vortex was really boring and I got it far. The Hillary Girls went to high jump last but it was really boring but I didn't do high jump because I ditched because I had a sprained hand. 

Week 3

Maths...

In maths, I have learned addition with different denominators and it is really hard at first but then it gets really easy. I also learned about decimals with addition but it was really hard but it was really easy at the end. We had to do the great martini but it was really boring but it was really easy in maths buddy but maths is my favourite subject.

Inquiry...

In the inquiry, we have to choose something off the grid and I have finished 5 things and it is really easy but it is really hard at the same time but we get really easy tasks. Our inquiry we are doing is really challenging but it is really cool because you get to learn more about what your learning and that is really aweosme.

Week 2.

New Learning...

Yesterday we had P.E and we did vortex and we had to into a group of two and I was with my friends and it was fun throwing the vortex because I am a good thrower and I was so got the new high score and yesterday my other friends hit me in the mouth with the vortex and it was so sore but I was laughing at the same as I was crying the other day we had P.E and we did shotput but we had to put and not throw and it and we had semifinals and finals I was in the semifinals but it was cool because now I know how to put the ball. Today for writing we had to get a journal and a piece of paper and we had to write in our book and my hands got really tired and we had to work into maths and it was really cool because we didn't have to do maths. On Tuesday we had forensics polices come to our school and talk about the crimes they have done and how they catch them, they catch by knowing what they have used by there fingerprints and the item they have used. This week we have been to athletics for P.E

Week 1 T4

Writing...

In writing, we are writing a story about Halloween or the A + P show I am writing about Halloween and I am nearly finished and we have been looking up gifs on google but we have to do our writing before the gifs.

Chinese Cooking...

Yesterday we did Chinese cooking and it was really easy and we made dumplings but I didn't eat any dumplings because they looked disgusting we made it with pastry and put the filling in the end and then had to cook it.

Week 8.

New Learning.

This week in writing we had to write a letter to the future prime minister and it was so cool because you can write whatever you want not exactly because we had to write was in this world the taxes, environment, properties and it was so cool because we got to do what we wanted to write on and I wrote in a book and the class wrote on a laptop.

This week in maths I have done decimals and I have learned more about decimals and the ones that look the smallest aren't the smallest the smallest the one that has a whole number and the n the number after the decimal is exactly the smallest and it is actually little bit easy and hard but it was so cool to learn something new in maths I love maths.

This week in inquiry we have been writing about vitamins and minerals and I am working on vitamin c and when you are healthy you are strong and your body is healthy you will be fit. 

Week 7.

New learning.

In writing, I have learned how to write in paragraphs and sentences and when you write paragraphs you need to make sure you do it right perfectly right and do not mess it up like I did because you would not like to share it in front of the class. Yesterday all of hillary house had an assembly all 4 classes had to share something they have done in their class we had to share the school song, certificates, and the other classes did art at the end we had reach awards and wade from our class got a reach award and he got what he wanted in the peace box and it was so cool for Mrs. August and the other teachers we happy as well for there kids in their classroom. On Monday we had social dancing it was partner dancing and we had to dance with boys it was gross but yesterday I think we had it at morning tea but I danced with girls the whole time and it was so cool because I danced with all of my friends but it was gross because all of their hands were sweaty. 

Week 5.

New learning.

This week in maths is been awesome because I have finished all my tasks in maths buddy and we have been playing this new maths game poetry cat and mathletics  and it is so cool because you learn more of your maths and we also use the maths hub and you learn more steps of your maths I am on step 5.

Literacy.

In literacy we have been doing this friendship grid and we had to finish 2 by Friday and I have done 3 already and I have done what if we had no technology for the whole weekend and I have been doing Kahoot about at least 15 things about rm 19.

Science tech.

Ms. Hawtin helped us make slushies using sandwich bags, ice, salt, and juice and we had to get in a group of 3 or 4 and I was with Kara, Katie, Lily French and me and it was so cool because we got to eat the slushies but before we ate it we had to shake it and it was so cold that we all got a brain freeze when we ate it but we had to share it all around in our groups Kara named it was her own daughter and she named it camellia Kara named her that because she tried to put all our names into one.

Week 3.

Technology.

In tech, I am in science and I am with my friends Karahuia and Kaylah we had tech today and we learned how atoms worked and we had to light matches and set a tea bag on fire near the end the tea bag would fly up to the ceiling when the fire went out the paper would come down.

Maths.

In maths, I have learned more of my decimals and more of my multiplication and my friends and I had a competition on maths buddy and Kaylah mostly won and Kara won once and I won three times in speed skills and it was a bit challenging because we had to do decimal ones as well and my high score for the decimal one is 27 and that is my highest high score, in addition, my high score was 45 and that was so cool it was even higher than Kaylah's. On maths buddy I have to do fractions for maths it is quite fun and then it gets challenging and it is sort of boring for me but I also love maths and that is my goal I have to work on my maths.😍😍😍😍

What causes thunder.

What causes thunder...

Thunder is the sound caused by lightning. Depending on the distance and nature of the lightning, thunder can range from a sharp, loud crack to a long, low rumble (brontide). The sudden increase in pressure and temperature from lightning produces rapid expansion of the air surrounding and within a bolt of lightning. Thunder is also caused by two clouds that get rubbed together and then the heat and the cold go back away.

    

Week 9.

Electives.

In electives I joined Spanish and we go do our elective every Friday and we learn what we need to learn I am Spanish we learn more Spanish every time we go and it is really cool there because we do fun activities and some are really easy and really hard our last one we got we had to colour in things that were so cool and we got word searches and they are really easy and I like Spanish and 2 of my friends are in there and they are Karahuia and Katie.

Netball.

In netball it is really sad we have lost all of our games that we played I had to play for Knights twice and the lat week we won 1 quarter it was 5 to 3 and these are the people who are in my team, Katie, Pippa, Annaliese, Renai, Laura, Sofia, Me, Eliza, Klaudia and my manager is Jan and my coach is Anita.

Week 7.

New Learning.

In writing, I have to add more punctuation and add more detail and to add full stops and the right things in the right place. In the inquiry, I need to work on being focused on my learning and not just listen to music and not playing with anything that disturbs me and other people that are not on full licenses and I need to work more on the things I need to work on.

Week 6.

New Learning.

This week I have learned is how to make decimals in the division and I have also learned how to use pattern into numbers and patterns are really easy to use if you know your patterns.

Learning Goals.

My learning goals are to add more punctuation and add more detail and to know where to put full stops in the right place. I need to use the right tools.

Writing.

In writing, I need to put commas and full stops in the right place and capital letter in the right place and use the right tools and add paragraphs.

Week 3.

Maths.

In maths, I have learned that the denominator is the bottom number of a fraction.

Writing.

In writing, I have to hand in my prove its task and to also be focused on my work and not to annoy anyone so they don't get out of work.

P.E.

In P.E we have been playing rippa rugby and I am playing netball on Wednesdays after school.

Week 2 T2

Slime machine.

This is designed for everyone and it is super fun to play with if you make one or more slime you can add different colors or you can leave it plain white. this is the best machine ever.

how this machine works you push a button and say what slime you want you will get the slime you want. The slime could be fluffy, slimy, crunchy, small any kind of slimes and you can also have rainbow slime.

What it is for it is for people who loves playing with slime and also people can make their own slime. You can also put beads the slime the machine gives you.

Week T2.

Maths.

Today in maths my teacher Mrs. August gave us a maths task which was pretty hard because we had to do division in the hundreds and the thousands and we had to do multiplication in the hundreds and thousands and we had to use NO calculator because we had to use our brains. Also in maths, I have learned that division is the cousin of multiplication.

Inquiry. 

On Monday we did a project about on what we love I did my family and my cat and I was going to do a painting with it, well I did sort of and I only painted my name.  

Sign Language.

Every week we learn more and more sign language from Nora and Dontaey and Saul always teaches us. 

How to get ready.

In an emergency, we can be without electricity. The get ready get thru website says we need a torch and spare batteries. At Electronics class I am going to design and make and Emergency Light for yourself.

Electronics.

Week 11.

New Learning:

In room 21 that's where we do the maths, reading and writing hub and we have been doing the rain task and the timeline I have finished my timeline and on the main task we have to talk about the weather obviously and we have to come up with our own words but we could still search it but you had to write it in your words.

Music.

On Monday Mrs. McHattie gave us back us our music books and we looked for our grades and if we had an A+ we had been a legend and if we got a B+ we were savages and I got a B+.

P.E.

In P.E we have been taught a new game from our Teacher Mrs. August and the game was KIA o Rahi and it was a bit boring for me because I did not touch the ball at all and we had to stand next to the poles and the boys were pretty fast and they did not share the ball with their teammates. 

Week 10.

New Learning.

Art: Yesterday we started on art called crayon art you have to color the whole thing and make sure there are no white spaces and make that it is colorful and it can be more than 2 colors and you could do any pattern I did a rainbow pattern and so did my learning buddy.

Inquiry: Yesterday I started on a new inquiry by myself and I am doing what are mammals and I am almost finished and I wanted to do it with my learning buddy Karahuia but she started doing one by herself and then I started by myself I really did nothing I just copied the information from google, Wikipedia and other sites.

Reading: Today we are doing tasks for room 21 and I am blogging right now and I am blogging about classroom things and I am doing read theory and I am almost finished my blogging and then I am going on to read theory.

Week 9

Egg Challenge.

On Monday 27th March all of rm 21 had to bring an egg we had to bring a roar egg and not boiled egg and if we did bring a boiled one we would be disqualified if your egg cracked you would also be disqualified. You have to name your egg, make your egg a home and Alex and Ruby had to spin your egg and if they said they weren't boiled you would have passed, and if they didn't you would be disqualified. 

Line Dancing.

Yesterday we did line dancing we had to dance by yourself at first and then we had to dance with a boy the boy I danced with was Oscar and when you were finished with your first buddy you had to keep going around the circle until it was finished. The songs we danced to were Chalalala, the great vine. 

Music.

Yesterday for music my friend Ruby had shared her presentation for her music slide and she did Anika Moa and Ruby knows Anika Moa because that is her auntie and Ruby also knows all of her aunties songs I know only 2 of them and they are songs for bubbas, songs for bubbas 2 and I have seen the whole video. I am doing one about Elton John and I have almost finished and I also got a music book because I lost my other one.

Maths.

Today I learned more about the great martini maths games we had to do the quizzes on the right side we had to do the multiplication quiz first and then the division one next we had to do those quizzes 3 times in a row.

   

Week 8

Tech.

In tech, we have been making a stakeholder and we have to use and we have to make it for someone or yourself and we have to make it with and we have to make it out of a USB and we got make it into any shape color and any size, but the colour in the middle it had to be clear.

Sir Edmund Hillary.

In Rm 21 we have been doing our reach values and we have to write things about Edmund Hillary and we had to write some things about him while he was in our school.

Inquiry.

In inquiry I am working with a buddy and she is my best friend and her name is Karahuia and we are doing a slideshow about why did people bring drugs into NZ and we have finished and we have to present it and with our buddy and Karahia didn't want to present it so that everyone knows what it is about.

New Learning.

My new learning... That I learned how to use prezi and it was hard at first until I got more into it and I did a prezi about Sir Edmund Hillary. I also learned about Hillary House is named after Sir Edmund Hillary.

  

Week 7

Sir Edmund Hillary.

What I learned about Sir Edmund Hillary was that he was born in Auckland in 1919 20th of July and he died in 2008 11th January. I also learned that Sir Edmund Hillary had 3 children called Peter, Belinda, Sarah. Sir Edmund Hillary died when he was 88 years old.

Music.

I have learned how to play yellow bird on the guitar and I know what my chords and that I know what the parts of the guitar and I also know so much about the people that write the songs.

Inquiry.

In my inquiry, I am doing with my learning buddy and we are doing why did people bring drugs into NZ and I did 3 slides and my buddy did 1 slide.

  

Week 6

New Learning.

Maths.

In maths, I am learning how to read decimals and bigger numbers and to read to read bigger numbers in decimal and I have learned in maths is the value of the decimal numbers.

Inquiry.

In my inquiry, we have been doing questions around the world and we had to find information and we did it on slideshows I have already finished mine inquiry. 

Technology.

In technology, we have been making a key tag I am making a key tag for my mom and I am doing a number 5 for her keys we had tech this morning and then we have tech after lunch.

Sign Language.

In my classroom, we have been doing sign language and we can also do our names in sign language and Nora and Dontaey have been teaching us sign language.

Week 5

My Goals.

My goals in maths is learning more division and more basic facts and to learn my fractions. I need to learn more and more of my times tables and I had to learn more of my maths and I need to learn to round bigger numbers.

Writing.

In my writing I need to know where the speech marks go in the correct space and to need to spell harder words. I have been doing this programme and I do spelling and more things about writing. I also do test in there.

Reading.

In my reading I need to read more and more each day and write what I have read in my homework.    

Week 4

Learning

• What I've learnt in music is the symbols in music and it was cool and we listened to some music. We also learnt about rhymes and reading music. 
• I have learnt sign language in class from Nora. I can spell my name.
• I have shared my 5 things about me to the whole class.
• We have been doing tech with Mr Sutherland and we are in hard materials.
• In maths buddy I have learnt more time tables and division. 
• In room 21 we have been doing prodigy.
• We have been doing a road trip in our writing.
• In music we have been doing a music title page.
